How is it now?

I have moved many times in my life. When it is a desired move usually the first few months are some what exciting. Everything is new. Every time you leave your house it is another adventure. Usually after a few months you have learned where everything is. By this time you have met your neighbors …

Changing more than geography

As humans in the modern world we are constantly being told ‘truths’ about all kinds of things.  Without ever thinking about it we seem to almost instantly analyze and rank these ‘truths’.  My mom or teacher told me such and such I will rank it as a “real truth”.  I heard a stranger on the …

Signs of Spring

Spring is such a wonderful time of year. Flowers blooming. Trees budding. Rain stopping. Rain stopping? Maybe depending on where you are having your spring. Oh, so maybe rain slowing down, hopefully. In Utah we have all of that. But we also have one more thing I have never seen before.

Are we moved in yet

Moving is such a long slow process. Well sometimes the getting of your things to the new place happens fairly fast but the unpacking, and sorting, and putting away seems to go on forever. But for everyone, for every family, there is some magical point when you feel you are done. For many that is …

First day of a new commute

Grantsville is not a big city; it isn’t even a big town. Main street, which runs through the middle of Grantsville, only has one stop light and that is at the far east end before the town really starts. In such a small place the commute options are equally small, but there are a few.

Why so Quiet

For anyone who reads this blog, does anyone ready this blog, oh, I do, so I guess I have at least one reader, or is that cheating? Well as I was saying, for anyone who reads this blog, that’s me, you may have noticed that not much has been coming out of it lately.

Freezing is still cold

When we first moved to Utah I was working in Provo. There is no good public transit from out house to Provo. Because of that we chose to purchase a Prius since it is about a 30 mile commute each way. That worked out fine. As long as I left before 7:00 AM there was …

We Survived

Air travel is rather safe now a days but this was Sarah’s first ever flight. Because of that Carla and I decided we shouldn’t just abandon her at the drop off zone. We decided to get Sarah a golden ticket. Well actually it was a green tag. But that special tag allowed us to be …

How salty is it?

We live in Sandy Utah, but for those that don’t live in Utah we just say Salt Lake City because no one outside of the Wasatch Front knows where Sandy is. Oh you don’t know where the Wasatch Front is? I guess that proves my point; so we will say we live in Salt Lake …

‘In Name Only” Literally

A number of months ago I started thinking about what we should do for our 30th wedding anniversary.  Originally we had talked about saving up for a cruise to Alaska.  We had always wanted to do that, so it seemed like the perfect plan.  But those plans floated away when we moved to Utah.  Not …
